The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry

"The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry (BIMP) is the State Museum of Puppetry for Connecticut. Located on the UConn Depot Campus in Storrs, the Museum preserves and exhibits puppets from around the world as well as those created at the University of Connecticut. BIMP also provides research and educational opportunities to all who share the love of puppetry."

Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry

"The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry began in 1987 as the Puppet Preservation Committee whose members recognized the unique treasures that resided at the University of Connecticut." Fun websiite with many resources from "how-to" instruction to a nice online gallery.

British Puppet and Model Theatre Guild  

"The British Puppet and Model Theatre Guild was founded as a result of the publication of W.H.Whanslaw's book 'Everybody's Theatre'... The first meeting was held in a hired room in Rupert Street near Piccadilly, London, on the 29th April 1925.

Center for Puppetry Arts, Atlanta, Georgia  

Bills itself as the largest puppetry org in the US. Includes an extensive link library of resources.

Jim Henson Foundation

O'Neill Puppetry Conference

"The O'Neill Puppetry Conference was established, by key founding members Jane Henson, George Latshaw, Richard Termine, Bobbie Nidzgorski, Bart P. Roccoberton Jr., and Jim and Margo Rose in 1990. The mission of the conference is to encourage puppet artists to create and communicate through the visual and kinetic form of the puppet, push beyond their personal boundaries and develop new works for puppet theater. Participants collaborate with renowned guest directors, puppet artists and playwrights to develop innovative productions conceived by guest artists, as well as presentations initiated by the conference participants."

International Museum of Marionette Art

Based in Prague, this is really a museum, academy, theatre company, and more all rolled into one. There are some magnificent photographs of productions to be found on this site.
